Enjoy Charlottesville

We hope you get some free time to enjoy the city while you’re in town. Charlottesville has vineyards, breweries and historic tours all situated in the foothills of the impressive Blue Ridge Mountains. Two of the hotel blocks are located next to UVA’s campus where there is plenty to explore.

Take a walking tour of UVA’s campus and make sure to visit the lawn and the famous rotunda in the academical village. The campus should be full with students starting a new school year. It looks like there is a home football game during the wedding weekend!

Pippin Hill Farm is a member of the Monticello Wine Trail. What better way to appreciate wines and winemaking than to enjoy a glass here, where the grapes are grown. Their scenic Tasting Room offers samples and wine flights along with a food pairings menu too.

Take a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s breathtaking home. He’s a big deal in C’ville —author of the Declaration of Independence and the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom, third president of the United States, and founder of the University of Virginia.
